· Draw Feelings: Instead of just writing “he was depressed,” the artist can draw a dark rain cloud following the character everywhere. You see the sadness instead of just being told about it.

· Control the Speed: The size and number of pictures on a page control how fast you read. A page with many small boxes makes you read quickly like an action scene. One big, detailed picture makes you slow down and look carefully like a dramatic moment. It’s like the book is directing a movie in your head.

They Are Already Taken Seriously :-

A graphic novel called Maus won the Pulitzer Prize, one of the most important awards for writing. This proved that a “comic book” could be as respected as any great novel. Teachers now use graphic novels to teach serious subjects like history and literature. This means they are seen as valuable learning tools. Big bookstores and libraries have whole sections dedicated to graphic novels, just like they do for mystery or romance novels.

But, Are They REPLACING Regular Books? Probably Not :-

When movies were invented, they didn’t replace live theater. People still go to plays. Both are great, but they offer different experiences. Graphic novels are a new choice.
